When to redesign your Church Website
Written by Lex Meyer to help your Church Reach More People
I am often asked, "when should I redesign my church website?" So, today I want to talk about how often a church should update their website design. Websites should age gracefully, and small updates from time to time can give your site some fresh appeal. However, there is also a time when a website needs to be re-evaluated and taken back to the drawing board. Web trends are constantly changing and evolving, and it is a good idea to keep your site up to date.
It is difficult to give a strict timeframe for when to update your website design, but here are some helpful tips to keep your site looking fresh.
- One of the biggest problems with Church websites is they get stagnant. You should update information and pictures on your site on a regular basis. Websites are not meant to be left unattended. If you want people to come back again and again, you need to give them a reason. If you are not presenting them with new content and images, there is no reason for them to return.
- Every year, re-evaluate your website to make sure the content is still relevant, and the design is keeping up with web trends. If anything needs to be changed, then it is a good time to do it.
- If you are getting tired of your website, then your visitors probably are too. This is a good indicator that something needs to change.
If your website is only a few years old, and you make regular updates, and you are happy with it, then you might not need to redesign yet. However, if your website is more than 5 years old, or if you are ready for a change, then you should definitely consider getting a website redesign. Let us know, and we would love to help you with your church website redesign.
